Thrifty Thursday
Good Morning!! Today is Thrifty Thursday. Thrifty Thursday in my house means that today is a No spending day. The only thing we are allowed to spend money on is something that is a necessity, like gas (which I have to do on my way home from work today, because I forgot to do it yesterday :-( ). Making the men in my house understand that Xbox points are not a necessity is another story. Leave me a comment below and tell me what thrifty thing you are doing today and how you deal with the "wants vs. needs" when they come up.
Have a great day!!

Weekly Goals
I am going to start posting my goals weekly. I think if I post them on my blog, I will have a little more accountability as far as sticking to them. I love reading other people's goals. I started reading them on Money Saving Mom. I have started reading so many cool blogs, just by reading other people's blog post on goals.
I copied this format from The Thrifty Couple.
So here we go:
T - THRIFTY
1. Two no spending days per week. We currently do No Money Monday and Thrifty Thursdays.
2. Make coffee at home/work. No buying coffee out except for Starbucks Saturday, which I have already budgeted in.
H - HOME
1. Keep looking for a new house. We are currently looking for a new house and I hate househunting, so I need to keep at it.
2. Make a list of Must-Haves for the house.
R - RELATIONSHIPS
1. One date night a week with Bob, even if it is just coffee from Dunkin Donuts.
2. Make time for individual time with both boys.
I - INVOLVEMENT
1. Sign up for Relay For Life in honor of my mom and my friend Alison's husband Chuck. It is scheduled for mid-June, so I need to get moving.
2. Pick a charity/cause that we can work on as a family.
F - FINANCIAL
1. Keep working on the Emergency Fund.
2. Not be so quick to give in to Robby and Justin when they want something. It is time for them to start earning things.
T - TO DO
1. Make dentist appointment - Boys
2. Make Glasses appointment - Justin
3. Check about insurance for me.
Y - You
1. Keep up with my Mom Mastery classes.
2. Read my daily Simple Abundance book every day.

LANCE $$ OFF COUPONS
If you load up lunch boxes or need a few extra snacks around the house hurry over and grab this Rare $1.00 off any TWO (2) Lance Sandwich Crackers coupon!
I know I have grabbed these at Dollar General before which would make them just $0.50 each after the coupon.
Or you can also find them priced around $2 at Walmart.
Thanks SLTMommy.com

MONEY SAVING MARCH!!
We are going into March in money saving mode. Our family has had some truly trying obstacles this year and now the Momma is ready to get serious and get our family finances back on track
With 12 year old twin boys, there are a lot of "I want this", "can we buy that", etc. We are now using Bill My Parents - www.billmyparents.com, which is a debit card for their allowance. We load it for $10 per week and then they are responsible for anything they "must have". They are learning the art of saving and budgeting, the difference between a want and a need and when the money is gone, it is gone. We have had conversations in the store about only $5 dollars doesn't mean that I have an extra $5 to spend on something frivolous that happened to catch your eye. They are learning that if they don't have the money, they can't spend it. I will keep you updated on how it is working.
We are using No Money Mondays, We can do it Wednesdays, which are our no spending days. I hate having to be the voice of reason in Wawa when my husband says, "ooh, lets get candy, coffee, etc." We leave spending at least $20 each trip. Or we have the dreaded "I'm thirsty, can we get a soda?" I am slowly breaking them of the impulse buys.
Wish us luck as we begin a fresh month with fresh new money goals!!
